Mahatma Jyotiba Fule College of Social Work, Yavatmal
Introduction:
The Mahatma Jyotiba Fule College of Social Work Pre-Incubation Center (PIC) is envisioned as a seed bed for future social entrepreneurs and innovators in the field of social work and community development. It will be a facilitating environment where students, alumni, local community members, and budding change-makers can turn their ideas into potential solutions for the most crucial social problems of the Yavatmal district and the wider region. The PIC seeks to be a driver of building a culture of social innovation, entrepreneurial spirit, and sustainable development.
Yavatmal, similar to other parts of the world, has its own distinct social and economic issues. While conventional social work services are essential, creative, entrepreneurial responses are also important to effectively tackle these issues. Increasingly, there is a necessity to equip individuals with the capabilities, information, and resources necessary to conceive and implement viable, sustainable solutions. Most aspiring social innovators do not have the formal assistance and advice required to hone their ideas, create prototypes, find initial capital, and sift through the intricacies of starting a social business.
