Introduction:
Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) in Mahatma Jyotiba Fule College of Social Work, Yavatmal, is set up as a statutory committee to investigate and resolve the complaints of sexual harassment at the college campus, as per the UGC Regulations, SGBAU Guidelines, and Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013. Our goal is to provide a secure, respectful, and gender-just atmosphere to all students and employees.
Aim:
- To establish and ensure a harassment-free, safe, and dignified environment for all students and employees of Mahatma Jyotiba Fule College of Social Work, Yavatmal.
Objectives:
- To ensure a safe and secure channel of receipt and disposal of complaints of sexual harassment.
- To conduct timely, fair, and unbiased inquiry into all the complaints of sexual harassment.
- To take suitable steps to prevent sexual harassment, such as awareness programs and sensitization workshops.
- To safeguard complainants, witnesses, and respondents against retaliation or discrimination.
- To ensure the standards of natural justice and provisions of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013.
Proceedings:
- Receiving and Investigating Complaints: Receiving written or oral complaints of sexual harassment from any student or faculty member and conducting careful, confidential investigations in accordance with set procedures.
- Mediation and Counselling: Promoting conciliation or mediation between the parties where necessary and with the agreement of all concerned.
- Redressal of Grievances: Suggesting and enforcing suitable redressal and disciplinary actions against the guilty sexual harassers.
- Awareness and Sensitization: Holding periodic workshops, seminars, and awareness campaigns to inform students and employees about sexual harassment, its effects, and their rights and duties.
- Policy Dissemination: To ensure the policy of the college for the prevention of sexual harassment is disseminated widely and made known to all members of the college community.
