College Development Committee
Introduction:
Mahatma Jyotiba Fule College of Social Work, Yavatmal’s College Development Committee (CDC) is a key statutory committee established under Section 97(1) of the Maharashtra Public Universities Act, 2016. The CDC is the guiding agency for the overall development of the institution with a view to sustaining academic excellence, administrative efficiency, and the overall well-being of its stakeholders, in terms of the college’s mission of promoting social justice and community empowerment through social work education. The CDC is primarily involved in strategic planning, mobilization of resources, and policy development to guide the college towards realizing its vision and mission.
Aim:
To strategically muster and leverage resources to develop the overall academic, infrastructural, and student-focussed development, towards enabling the college’s sustained progress towards excellence and its mission of social work education.
Objectives:
- To consider and recommend proposals for new courses of study, curricular revision, and promotion of research, extension services, and innovation applicable to social work.
- To plan, propose, and oversee the development, upkeep, and modernization of physical facilities, technology facilities, and learning resources (e.g., library, laboratories).
- Financial Management & Resource Generation: To consider budget proposals, oversee financial spending, propose strategies for resource generation (e.g., grants, donations), and promote transparent and efficient financial management.
- To advise policies and programs for all-round student support services (counselling, placements, grievances, and scholarships) and ongoing professional development programs for staff and faculty.
- To facilitate strict compliance with the terms of the Maharashtra Public Universities Act, 2016, and other statutory laws and internal regulations, ensuring transparency and accountability in all college activities.
- To strengthen relationships with nearby local communities, non-government organizations (NGOs), government agencies, and professional bodies to provide greater practical exposure to students and support social development programs.
- To review periodically the performance and progress of the college in comparison to its defined goals and objectives, suggesting remedial measures and improvement as and when required to sustain high standards.
