Principal’s Desk

Dear Student,

Welcome to our college and to the noble field of Social Work. We live in a fast-paced, multifaceted era—one that is as technologically advanced as it is complex, often beset by various societal challenges. To navigate this landscape successfully, a well-developed personality is our greatest strength.

The Social Work course is a vital discipline within the social sciences, offering a comprehensive academic foundation rooted in sociology, psychology, humanitarian values, and the principles of the Indian Constitution. Our curriculum integrates diverse theoretical approaches, including social learning, psychosocial development, psychodynamic perspectives, transpersonal theory, and rational choice theory, alongside practical methods such as individual casework, group work, community organization, and social work research.

Through a rigorous process of individual conferences and professional supervision, we strive for the holistic development of our students. Our aim is to equip them with scientific knowledge, professional competence, and ethical values that enable them to address societal challenges and empower individuals, groups, and communities.

Upon completing the Master of Social Work (M.S.W.) programme, students can explore a wide range of career opportunities in government departments, non-governmental organizations, healthcare institutions, community development projects, correctional services, educational institutions, and corporate sectors. Graduates may serve as Social Welfare Officers, Community Development and Extension Officers, Medical Social Workers, Labour Officers, Project Officers, Counsellors, and many other professional roles.

Beyond these opportunities, students are also encouraged to establish their own voluntary organizations and contribute meaningfully towards social transformation. I wish you every success in your academic journey and a bright, purposeful, and rewarding future.
